Healing Projects

Halton Black Voices is committed to creating spaces for collective healing, rest, and well-being. Our Healing Projects are designed to support the mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness of the Black community through culturally relevant programs that centre joy, resilience, and restoration.

From Yoga Nights that offer mindful movement and relaxation to community healing circles, therapeutic art workshops, and nature-based wellness projects, we provide opportunities for connection, self-care, and growth. These initiatives foster a sense of belonging, encouraging individuals to prioritize their well-being in a supportive and affirming environment.

Join us in reclaiming rest, embracing healing, and strengthening our community through shared experiences of care and renewal.

Community Healing Gardens

The Halton Black Voices Healing Gardens sit at the main entrances to a community housing complex in Halton. They have beautified the neighbourhood and created a sense of pride for those living in the community. The planting project also provided opportunities for residents to learn gardening tips from Conservation Halton employees and receive free soil and mulch for their gardens. Since Halton Black Voices and Conservation Halton planted the gardens and assisted neighbours with their personal gardens, residents have noticed many people in the community taking better care of the outdoor environment. This has led to a cleaner, healthier living space for all. The gardens were also designed to attract bees and butterflies to the community's ecosystem, which have improved the growth and cross-pollination of all plantlife.

The native flowers and plants in the Halton Black Voices Healing Gardens are blossoming and thriving!

Special thanks to Conservation Halton for their careful planning and our wonderful community volunteers for making this a reality. The surrounding community appreciates how much this project has beautified the neighbourhood and created a sense of pride where they live.

A very Special thank you to our amazing community volunteers!
